Once I had a baby, it lived in my father's stomach. All the adults said babies can't live in dads' bellies, but mine did anyway.
Then it came out.
With the cockiness of a four-year-old, the omnipotent self tells The rainbow baby how everything is. It doesn't matter that the neighbors say babies can't talk, this baby can. It can say poo and poo sausage a hundred and fifty-two times a day, which is just as fun every time. And the rainbow baby can actually run, once it even ran away!
Josefine Engström debuts with a brightly colored picture book bomb that attracts recognizable laughter. The story is permeated by a clear child's voice that does not give way to adults' inability to imagine.
Josefine Engström is trained in illustration in London. For eight years she ran the illustrator agency NU Agency and worked as an assistant professor in illustration at Konstfack and later as a lecturer. In 2019, she became chairman of Swedish Draftsmen. The rainbow baby is her picture book debut.
