The State Railways' very first passenger train locomotive was built in 1856 by Beyer, Peacock & Co in Manchester.
These for their time strong locomotives were capable of 75 km / h. One of the locomotives, Prince August, came after 50 years of service in Malmö and Östersund to the Railway Museum in Gävle, Sweden. The "prince" had to change the boiler twice during his active time, but is now restored to its original condition as the picture shows.
