The project "Meeting with a cup" is run jointly by Form / Design Center and KHVC and puts the cup in focus in order to lift the meeting with the handmade and the person behind it. The cups and their authors are presented in the Form / Design Center's café and shop as the cup of the season.
Cup name: Landscape
Designer: Rani Leoson Samuelsson
Rani Leoson Samuelsson is a trained Industrial Designer with a master's degree from IKDC in Lund, where she still lives. As a member of the Arts and Crafts Center, she has been selected a couple of times to sell her craft at Wanås, she has also participated in several group exhibitions. Rani is driven by rethinking, and expresses himself through craftsmanship, art, design and graphics.
“The material in the cup is porcelain clay which is rolled and then rolled. I made 111 vases with this technique that makes each vase unique but still reminiscent of the others. Perfectly perfectly controlled. I wanted to continue experimenting with dimensions and the expression of the material, which is a kind of frozen formability, and make an everyday product - a cup. I want to make the viewer think "I can do that" - but despite the fact that the cup is simple in its design and calls for playfulness with the material, the technology is more complicated than you think. In meeting this cup, I want to give the user the opportunity to feel mindfullness. ” /Rani Leoson Samuelsson
