Karaff

Nina Johanna Christensen is a Swedish glass artist and glassblower who works with both larger works and small production lines.

In her work from the series "A Material in Motion", she wants to show her fascination for the organic material and the constant movement in the hot liquid glass. These qualities, which are constantly present in the hot work, but which are often lost and ignored in the finished glass objects, are what made her start working with glass. Her focus has been on trying to maintain a sense of movement in the products from A Material in Motion, almost as if they are still in motion and reshaped when you hold them, see them and use them.

The sketch work is done in her studio and showroom. When the ideas are worked out, she goes and blows the works at Björstorpsgård Glashytta, Nora, Sweden.
